Lake Permits

  • Permits must be in possession of anyone using the lake (not in vehicle).
  • CLC Members may receive permits upon request (membership must be current and in good standing).
  • Cost to the public members is $45 for one permit.
  • Permits can be acquired at the Front Desk inside the CLC.
  • 1 permit per person 18 yrs. and over.
  • Permits are valid for one year from date of purchase.
  • The Quarries is private property. No state fishing license is required.

Lake Policies

  • A valid CLC Lake Permit is required for all lake activities and fishing.  
  • Waiver forms must be filled out by every person (minor participants must have a form filled out on their behalf).
  • Life vests must be readily available for each person on the water. Persons under 12 must wear a life vest of proper size and fit at all times on the water. Life vests are not required by those fishing from the shoreline.
  • Users must be off the lake by dusk.
  • Swimming is not permitted at any time.
  • Jumping or diving off cliffs is strictly prohibited.
  • No smoking or alcoholic beverages.

Quarries Water crafts

  • Watercraft rentals are included in day pass activities at $10 per person. Children under 12 are free with an adult.
  • Rentals are free to CLC members (current membership in good standing).
  • 2 hours time limit on watercraft or when CLC building closes, whichever comes first.
  • You must be 16 years of age and have a valid TX Driver’s License in order to rent a Quarries watercraft. Driver’s license will be returned to you when you return the watercraft.
  • Rentals are available at staff’s availability. If no staff is available to get the watercraft out of storage, they are not available for rental at that time. 
  • Life vests must be readily available for each person. Persons under 12 must wear a life vest of proper size and fit at all times on the water.
  • You must have the ability to enter and exit the craft independently or with the assistance of a companion. You must also have the ability to remain seated and balanced.
  • At least one person in the canoe must have the ability to move it through the water in a stable manner and return it back to the launch area.

Fishing

  • A valid CLC Lake Permit is required for fishing.
  • Children 12 and under should be supervised at all times.
  • The Quarries lake is a “catch and release” ONLY!
  • Permitted fishers may bring their own kayak, canoe, or small fishing boat. Electric trolling motors are allowed; gasoline engines are not.
